Fraud & Counterfeit
- Forensic Document Lab (ICE)
The Immigration & Customs Enforcement Forensic Document Lab (FDL), whose mission is the detection and deterrence of travel and identity document fraud, has been in operation since 1978 as the only federal crime laboratory dedicated exclusively to the forensic examination of travel and identity documents.
- Fraud Investigation (Secret Service)
The Secret Service's investigative priority is to safeguard nationwide payment and financial systems, a mission which includes the fight against counterfeiting, financial fraud, and forged identity documents.
- Intellectual Property Rights (CBP)
CBP protects businesses and consumers every day by combating the trade in counterfeit and pirated goods through an aggressive Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) enforcement program. CBP targets and seizes imports of counterfeit and pirated goods, and enforces exclusion orders on patent-infringing and other IPR violative goods issued by the U.S. International Trade Commission.
- Intellectual Property Rights Center
The Intellectual Property Rights Center is an interagency effort that coordinates enhanced intelligence, investigative and enforcement actions to improve protection and safeguard the health and public safety of U.S. consumers. Particular emphasis is given to investigating major criminal organizations engaged in transnational IP crime, halting the flow of counterfeit goods into U.S. commerce and pursuing the illegal proceeds derived from sales of counterfeit goods.
